Bhatnagar. Sir expressed that Supply Chain shall see major shifts in its practices and policies in the coming time owing to the Covid -19 crisis and stressed that global business fraternity and governments should come together in order to remove the hurdles and ease the situation.
The speaker of the webinar was Ms. Rupal Saxena, having around 10 years of experience exclusively in the global chain practices. She started with a detailed overview of the supply chain concepts and its practices and highlighted the fact that supply chain management is nothing less than a backbone to any industry. The Covid -19 crisis has acted as a major shock to the supply chain activities and has immensely damaged the capacity to procure raw materials, add value to it and further make it available to the market. She underlined the areas of concern during this crisis including a drop in demand, piling of access inventory, charging massive sums of money and uneven orders. She said that this has led to a sharp decline in the projections of GDP of countries globally which may have a much elevated impact on salaries, job opportunities, business growth and other economic activities.
The webinar was concluded with some insights on the supply chain priorities post covid and strategies to be adopted to smoothen the flow. The Webinar was attended by more than 120 students and faculty members.
